First, i want to say that i don't live in the Usa, and is because of this fact that i will be asking questions.
So, this is a topic that i feel i don't get satisfatory answers, the topic is that i think while Incels are wrong in their beliefs, i think our society help create them by books, movies and perhaps games.
For example, in most teen movies, the cast is mostly always attractive.We also see sterotypes like, the nerd, the jock and the popular girl, and they see to reinforce these kinds of stereotypes, or why else the writers would write a movie that way without a discussion about stereotypes?
I love to read, specially horror books, and i have to say that EVERY teen horror book that i have read, the protagonist is always attractive, and not only this, they mostly always make fun of someone who isn't attractive, i have tried different authors, but it's always the same thing, and is this what puzzles me, what is the point of doing this?I don't know how to interpret this, but the impressiom that i have is that these books are only for attractive people, because how can an unattractive people read this and like?

2-Why the protagonist in books and movies are always attractive?And don't you think that this and sterotypes in teen movies help to reinforce the loser and popular mentality?
3-Why teen authors make attractive people making fun of unnatractive people?I don't understand, i'am suposedly to like these characters?I'am suposedly to believe that unnatractive people can't get attractive romantic partners and are unhappy?
4-Do you think that all mentioned above help create incels?

1 - For me personally, High school was hell. I was bullied every day I went until the 12th grade. But, what he said about it not ending after High school was false for me. After high school I could just avoid mean people for the most part.
2 - Protagonists in books aren't always attractive. That's just plain false. Movies have attractive people because it's a visual medium and a certain segment will watch the film just to see the attractive people. Economically it makes sense to have attractive people to entice people who are only interested in seeing hot people to spend money.
3 - What books in particular are you talking about?
4 - Does this make people involuntary celibate? No. There were involuntarily celibate people long before those things were a thing, and lots of people are involuntarily celibate who were never bullied or read about bullying, etc. Does this add the incel community (a community of young involuntarily celibate men who blame women for their problems)? I doubt it. A lot of people, like myself, who were bullied a lot don't end up in the incel community. The problem isn't that they can't get laid and want to. The problem is how they are dealing with that and what they are blaming for it. (They mostly blame women, and how "women have in easy"). Look at men who were incels then got laid at some point. Do those guys suddenly have healthy attitudes toward women just because their not involuntarily celibate? Not generally, no. They go from "I'll never have sex" to "I'll never pull women like alpha guys" or "I'll never have a woman who worships me. Getting laid won't actually help these guys be healthy functioning people. It's not the lack of sex that's the problem. It's just a symptom, and the thing THEY blame.

1 - I've answered this before. I was bullied in school. I read lots and lots of books when I was that age. I didn't read those particular books, because I don't like horror, but read 100s of books in my teens. None of those made me feel like you're describing. I didn't have sex until I was in college. At no time did I think it was a problem that kids were bullied in books for their looks. I can tell the difference between reality and fiction.
I CARED ABOUT MY ACTUAL BULLIES IN REAL LIFE. Not fictional ones harming fictional characters.
2 - Who the fuck cares if they get frustrated from books? They choose to react with hate and anger to their frustration. They could choose to not be awful. Lots of involuntarily celibate aren't terrible people, people in the incel community are. No one should be trying to change the world to make them feel better. They should stop being shitty human beings. They owe the world to change, the world doesn't owe them anything.
