Dating apps have the bottom of the barrel men but I don't have any other way of meeting men at the moment where I live so I use them occasionally and with caution.

The benefits of OLD don't outweigh the drawbacks, imo. The chances of encountering a HVM are infinitesimal. You're far more likely to encounter psychopaths passing themselves off as HVM. Not that there isn't a risk of that irl, but when you meet people irl organically you have far more opportunities to catch glimpses of their true selves, instead of the curated image of themselves they craft for a profile.

It's like when a health inspector goes to a restaurant. Of course if there's forewarning everything will be spick and span. The inspector has to drop in unannounced to get an idea of what the actual day to day operation of the kitchen is like.

Boycotting. I have no interest in playing games of swipe. It’s the new “personals ad” at the end of a newspaper. I admit I used to be on those apps but chose to not participate with the lovely competition of pickmeishas that LVM have access to swipe on.

How isn’t swiping similar to a LVM passing by the boulevard in his automobile while peeping at the corner girl asking how much she charges for her services. And then just moving on to the next.

Harvey made an analogy about the dangers of being a LVW Pickmeisha: If you wanted to be valued by the hunter as the bunny, than go be the bunny amongst the bunnies. If you want to be HVW, a HVM will find you the rare lion and will hunt properly. Maybe it’s sexist, but true.

By all means boycott, dating apps are full of trash and we don't need it in our luxurious lives. This article rubs me a little bit the wrong way though, just because the whole "nature is the reason for slxxt shaming blah blah blah" thing is used so often as an excuse by men to shame women for wanting sex and defend men while ignoring how much about sexuality with humans just ISN'T natural. Men go on about natural roles, but they don't actually think about offspring, or providing to ensure said offspring survive, and they love beating up their partners which would be a threat to said offspring, not to mention the obsession with blowjobs and anal. None of this is "natural" if natural means as a result of procreation instincts. I just find it a bit ehhhh that the "natural instincts" argument, while valid (I won't deny that the science is right, but I will question the way it's interpreted and used politically), is only ever used to shame women or gay people for "unnatural" behaviour, never men.
