Hello, ladies! Today I wanted to share/vent about my experience with a guy "friend" from college.
So, for the record, I've been following this sub for about a year now and I have a strict personally policy of not dating whilst I complete my education. Anyway, since I'm with online school I ended up exchanging messages with a guy from there (we're both the same age and major but he's a year ahead of me). At the beginning it was nice, he was really funny and cool, so I figured it would be great to have a friend from school 🤦🏻♀️. Then he started to become a bit clingy, which obviously was weird, but I've never really payed too much attention to him since I was busy during that time.
Here comes the incident that changed everything for me. A couple of months ago, I was burnout from the stress I was facing in college so my general health deteriorated quite a lot. It was so difficult for me because I have to take a break from school to rest and get well. In consequence, I wasn’t online as often, my old friends supported me but this particular guy threw a tantrum because I wasn't texting him as much as I used to. WTH? I literally had a health problem and took a leave of absence!
He's extremely self-centered, makes absolutely everything about himself, has a tendency to overreact to small things and as I don't want his companion, I decided to cut ties with him. It was really hard figuring out the right way to do it due to the fact that he has such emotional reaction to anything. I read here that the best way to do it would be to slow fade away and go no contact. We've been talking less and less lately, I honestly feel great, like I've finally been liberated from this burden.
I'm so happy because I know I have control over the people I let enter my life with makes me feel so powerful 💕
