Here’s the thing: I appreciate and really feel for you in your tough between a rock and a hard place situation.

And if I give sympathy and encouragement to cope that is just a bandage that keeps both of you in misery.

Suicide is not a treat at home situation- even if you are any of the things: educated in modalities, compassionate and motivated.

Here’s a question: are you two really stuck at home and have no medical options such as treatment in a facility that deals with suicidal thoughts?

Are you participating in the online therapy getting the professional advice that pertains to your situation?

Tbh no person of quality with ongoing mental health issues stays in a place where treatment isn’t sufficiently available. Suicide is a terrible decision on a horrible day. He’s driving the car here. Is he moving towards safety or handing you the wheel? Don’t take the wheel- no matter how badly you feel about all the decisions and justifications that got you to this point.

There’s got to be outside help. You did not sign up for this and as harsh as this will sound the only person who is responsible and is ultimately in control is him. No matter what.

At the very least you call the suicide hotline and tell them your situation. They have the advice.

You shouldn't be alone with this, mental health care professionals are more equipped to answer your questions and your concerns.

Call your local hospitals/MH centers and see if they can commit him for a psych eval
