Ladies, I think I might have experienced the offense that HVM feel when their date helps to pay for a meal. It. Was. WACK!

Yesterday I met up with my (in every sense of the word) boujee friend for dinner. Let's call her Cardi. 💅👜💰 We decided on a chic restaurant and I offered to pay. She treated me to drinks the last time we met up so I felt it was my turn to treat her. Mind you, Cardi doesn't hide the fact that she's in a high income bracket and has secured a position in a law firm.

We received great service from our waitress, so when the bill came I made sure to tip 30%. Weirdly, when I was writing out the tip amount Cardi was oddly focused on what I was writing. Once finished, I excused myself to go to the restroom...When I came back Cardi had pulled out a $10 bill and placed it on the table in conjunction with with bill folder! She had looked at my 30% tip and decided it wasn't good enough!!! 😱😱😱

Y'all. I cannot describe the feeling of INFERIORITY that I experienced. I was supposed to be covering the meal and ensuring that Cardi had a good night! Her contribution made me feel SO financially inadequate.💀 Bummed me out so bad I can't forget it!!!

So ladies, take this as insight into the mindset of a HVM who wants to provide for you! When a man cares about you and wants to see you happy, they will feel SHAME if you step in and help out! Think about it: if I'm feeling this way as a straight woman I'm pretty damn sure a HVM would have heart palpitations. 🚑
