Yes, way to go! Good luck! I work in the court system, and I can tell you sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. If you don’t have a lawyer, you might want to find a volunteer attorney service just to make sure all of your documents you’re filing are in order before you show up to court so you won’t have to have any unnecessary court dates. I'm going to say something I'm not sure how popular this comment will be. I'm not sure how old you are or what your financial situation is but, forget about the money. I once had a boyfriend who owed me money and it kept me tied to him and terrorized me. I know that $3,000 seems like a lot but it's not worth your sanity. In my experience, money flows. Sometimes a lot of it flows in and there is abundance and other times life is lean but if you keep your head up high and stay in decent company you will have everything you need.

The course you are on will lead you to devoting more energy to this vampire. Preparing for court and actually going and then.... and then after the court orders it you must collect the debt. He will likely never pay you.

Let the money go- chalk it up to being simply the cost of letting low value men into your life.
