I like cooking though. And cleaning. I was going to do all that anyway. I think, while dating, as long as a guy is taking you out and/or cooking for you at least twice as often as you’re cooking for him, it’s fine.

When I’m married I plan on cooking and cleaning more than he does, because he’s going to pay for everything. We’ve talked about this. He hates doing housework. I hate punching a clock. My ideal situation is to be like a 50s housewife. Even when I was a kid my parents or whoever would ask me what I want to be when I grow up and I would say either housewife or stay at home mom. I don’t find that to be degrading. I feel proud when my house looks nice or I cook a good meal. It’s much more fulfilling for me than any job I’ve ever had. I don’t see those things as chores. I see them as stuff you do because it improves your life and your environment. The results are immediate and tangible. If my husband is willing to free up my time by supporting me financially, I would love to spend that time making my house feel tidy and welcoming and cooking good food for us to eat.

I know not everyone’s like me. I’m just not very ambitious or career driven and I never have been.

The problem is finding a guy who won’t take advantage of you. Too many guys expect you to do all that stuff but also expect you to contribute financially. Sounds like a great deal for them.
