Critics, such as r/jailbait's creator, disputed claims that this thread was the basis of the decision, instead claiming it was an excuse to close down a controversial subreddit due to recent negative media coverage.

Others claimed that the thread believed to have prompted the closure was created by members of the Something Awful forum in an attempt to get the section shut down, rather than the regulars of the forum.

Following the closure of r/jailbait, The Daily Dot declared the community's creator, u/violentacrez, "The Most Important Person on Reddit in 2011", calling the r/jailbait controversy "the first major challenge to the site's voluntary doctrine of absolute free speech".

Soon after the closure of r/jailbait, the similar subreddits r/teen_girls, r/niggerjailbait and r/picsofdeadjailbait were closed.

Jakolandia In January 2019, a Philippine-based subreddit, r/jakolandia, was accused of "distributing” posts of photos of women, including celebrities, apparently without their consent,similar to "a number" of secret Facebook groups that had been engaging in illegal activity of sharing "obscene" photos of women and possibly child pornography.

Reddit reluctantly felt obliged later to ban r/jakolandia as a result.

Men's entire history is about them being tyrants and oppressing women and girls and wherever you look in their male history it's the same story being told over and over again.

Even in the womb it's exactly the same story

The Y Chromosome secretes an anti-Müllerian hormone, which suppresses the development of the female reproductive tract by causing the Müllerian duct to regress (this duct o/w gives rise to the oviduct, uterus, and upper part of the vagina)

In other words male hormones suppresses that which would otherwise produce a newborn female and instead produces a newborn male. Male suppression of the female begins in the womb.

So males may look similar to their reproductive hosts, but may just be parasites on them.

Globally and collectively thousands of years ago men declared women their inferior and once they declared that they started culling millions of newborn females and we know men had a preference for sons who they highly valued while they thought their daughters were burdens they could do with out.

Of course this is what happens when a group start calling another their inferior, they start marginalising them, verbally running them down and abusing them and in some cases they even go to the whole extreme of murdering millions of them, which is what men did to females and the Nazi's did to the Jews.

In your intent to deny reality you are also intent on denying science, science that says

I understand why you might feel this way, and I see in your response that you have no interest in progressive conversation with "the enemy", but why ostracize half of society and refuse anyone a platform for logically tackling the problems and feelings of inequality spreading rampantly throughout the world? That won't bring a solution to the table for either party present. What ever happened to independent human thought? Or independence itself, for that matter? When did one minority gain the right to speak for all minorities, or when did we all gain the right to blame the many for the actions of the few? What could an individual man do, without money, or power in government, to lessen the inequalities that you all feel so strongly and move us towards a path to recovery? After a hurricane, we rebuild the city better. We are in a hurricane of socio-political ideologies at the moment and they all seem to clash. When will it be time to set aside the rhetoric, and pick up the pieces we have left? If we ever want a so-called equality in this world the first and most important task should be defining what that might look like. We have plenty of examples throughout history and modern times to choose from, we just need a goal and the will to set aside our disputes and work together to solve our common problems. It's easy to fight, it's much more difficult and takes much more strength to stand together with those you disagree with for the common good.
