The dynamics on birth control in relationships really bothers me.

I was thinking last night about a few of my female friends who decided to go on hormonal BC and/or get IUDs. The reason why? Their partners "hate using condoms" and that was the primary reason. A friend of mine reluctantly got her IUD pretty much just for her BF. Her BF claimed he couldn't maintain an erection because of them. If I were her I would make him try all the different types of condoms in a variety pack and find one that fits! It's just straight up bullshit if you ask me.

I find this whole dynamic so ridiculous. While I understand there are many women who need BC for a variety of reasons only for themselves, I wanted to bring up this other group of women who would rather not use invasive medicine with significant risks and side effects but get persuaded to by their partners. My partner and I only use condoms and I have never been on any other BC because of the potential for complications and side effects. I like it that way and I would flip out if my fiance ever complained about it (he hasn't--he couldn't care less and that's how it should be).

My friends have gone through a lot with their BC all because men want to have a nice, uninhibited perfect orgasm. And they are perfectly fine with having their partners go through hell all because condoms affect their pee pees a little bit. Really really bothers me.
