I’ve been dating this sweet guy for a few months. Thought he was a hvm but guess what? Wrong again! Several times during conversations of important matters... he has simply not acknowledge something I said or he will change the subject all together.

He recently met my family during a casual get together and he was totally checked out and would only talk to my best friend (our mutual friend.) it was awkward and It would have been better for me if he had just been honest and told me he didn’t want to come. When I ask him about why he acted this way... he blamed it on being severely overwhelmed and didn’t even touch on the fact that he was only interested in talking with my best friend. Since then, communication has been close to none between us. He can’t reassure me after I call out his behavior. He can’t own up to his own shortcomings and it’s crystal clear that he’s never going to change. If he changes the subject to avoid tough conversations, take note. It’s a prequel to the rest of your life. Boy bye.
