(UK based) If you listen to The Guilty Feminist, you’ll be familiar with the term mansploring. It’s just happened to me in my own home. A plumber came to fix my bathroom taps and said he needed to turn off the water. I told home the valve was in the cupboard under the stairs. He then opens the airing cupboard on the landing and tells me it should be in there. I repeat it’s actual location. He then gets a torch out to thoroughly inspect the airing cupboard for the valve before listening to me say for the THIRD time that’s it’s in the cupboard under the stairs and actually going down. Infuriating.
