When society approach a problem in regards to men, there is an issue of dealing with this said problem, not that the group does not receive help (even tho there is not a lot), but the help that we receive isn't meant to help us.
When people are selfish and they tend to approach the problem from the perspective of the world, when it is not the world that has an issue but the person. I see this shift of perspective often, where a men share let's say a fear, and instead of trying to be understanding and helping him by putting yourself in his shoes, people deal with this problem from the perspective of the outside world, like the world is this and that. It's a very contracdictory way of helping, because suddenly there is a you vs world (whether it is women or anything) where you own problem is treated as if you were paranoid and we have to explain to you reality.
They would say that they try to help, but in fact what they are doing is dismissing your own point of view, and i think that they don't actually are conscious that they don't really care about it. I think it's maybe because of the fact that society tends to take what men do for granted and expect them to resolve problem, so they kind of care but it's more a different version of "grow up and find a solution" kind of care (i think this is actually not caring, but i guess it's matter of perspective).
It's like the cliché desire of women for men to open about their feelings, but when they do, society takes the feelings and put them aside and try to find a solution for you to not feel this again, and because they put your feeling aside, they can't comprehend your experience, so they take an exterior perspective that is both dismissing and patronizing.
