I have difficulty at the gym for lack of interest or motivation, but my sedentary personal life (home, video games) demands a counterbalance. I'm trying to make it an indelible part of my routine. If I can, I'll execute the task automatically at its regular time. Habit.

Over the last two years, I've been doing basic home workouts with free weights and I like my results. I'm nowhere near shredded, and that is fine. But I am happy with how better I feel physically.

I still have a couple of craft beers once a week, otherwise I keep a decent diet and make sure I'm not over-indulging too much. I could never go pure "rabbit mode" and count every calorie. That isn't living to me.

Which is why I am struggling to pull out of a depressive funk and get myself back in shape. Maybe I will share the fully story but, suffice it to say that pussy was involved. Kids were birthed. Weight was gained. I went from an in-shape, badass, veteran to a morbidly obese, depressed, easily-winded, fat fuck with BP issues to go along with everything else and the PTSD. At least I have realized what put me here and am making an effort to drop the weight (starting with moderate PT that makes me sweat and portion control while dropping all sodas).

It is the people that do nothing but bitch about it and/or refuse to accept their own responsibility in their poor health and weight that irritate me. Two things I fully acknowledge that I have a hand in in my own case. Truly and completely do I acknowledge that.

For some people, myself included, we have to finally hit rock bottom and have enough. Enough of the BS and being a fat fuck, having health issues, and not feeling good about themselves. Indeed, these are usually the people that are most likely to own it, admit it, and do something with it. Even if they only get to an acceptable weight and shape; not attaining a six pack life. As long as they are healthy and are making an effort. Socrates did make a huge point with that about health and strength though.
