There is no alpha. There is only a person who behaves in ways to suit his needs.

That's something you guys need to get clear.

It's a stupid designation, but another example of how words are abstractions that allow us to toss rudimentary ideas back and forth. In other words, it's another example of the diminishing use of language. "Alpha" is an attempt to sterilize of nuance a complex set of circumstances.

The thing that confuses me is why you all are so fixated on the silly label.

I've never met or read about someone who would be "alpha" to me. And most of the examples people would cite I'd write them off as being stupid psychopaths. It's a fictional designation that has been blurred into sociological vocabulary to help people recognize similar differences. When you really begin analyzing the criteria - the nuance - you find it's not really a desirable goal.

A true alpha would be a perfectly logical and inhuman being, almost primal, unchanging and non-impressionable entity. It wouldn't make mistakes (would be infallible) and wouldn't be a slave to base desires. Not even the biblical God has claim to alpha. We are, by lesson, his mistake, and, by lesson, our "free" will negates his design.

The alphas people would start listing off to me would one and all be very damaged, stupid, fallible, and enslaved to desire and/or ambition.

Lone Wolf is as strong as alpha but does not seek to be part of group or center of attention.

Perfect example Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. Frank always had to be the center of attention but Dean was always cooler and hung back.

An Omega is sometimes used as a term to describe an anti-Alpha, someone with the traits of an alpha that doesn't want attention and rejects expectations

alpha is a psychological reward process started from a young age, where the man is simply rewarded for physical traits that women want. That's where the alpha mentality comes from, it's simply an ego that was catered to.

I guess Paul McCartney or Ed Sheeran could be that kind. Einstein too, he hated being a celebrity and preferred the company of his peers.
