This is good advice to a certain extent. Sometimes you need to work for someone else to build the skills to be self-employed. You can't just go start an electric/plumbing/hvac company without prior work experience

I worked for a delivery app company. You don't make enough money to live on your own doing that. At most I made around $450 a week part time, which sounds alright but you have to pay your own taxes, gas, maintenance on the car, plus it can be unpredictable

Probably pipe dream advice here. Your better off finding a job considering entrepreneurship IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. You cant just all drop everything and think your now all the sudden some kind of Elon Musk genius. What makes a MGTOW so qualified to run a PROFITABLE business? You need brains and street smarts. You will most likely fail. You'll be working a slave job or depending on welfare I guarantee it.

Most of the "app" companies -- even with the egregious levels of a "cut" that they take as a processing fee/commission -- are only dubiously profitable.

And they often only succeed in doing that by shirking/shifting nearly ALL of the equipment financing, maintenance, depreciation, insurance, and other liabilities OFF onto their "partner/contractor" employees...

Contractor/employees who think they are making money -- but are often just burning up assets, and making a temporary profit that can (will) entirely "disappear" (and turn into a massive LOSS) when any unexpected liability event occurs (car gets into accident -- personal vehicle insurance finds out vehicle was being used in non-covered "delivery/taxi" business & so refuses to pay damages or cover other expenses related to accident -- car is now damaged/possibly totaled, worker perhaps has hospital bills, still owes money on now useless car, etc).

Short term (temporary, illusionary) "profit" has instead turned into Long term (permanent, very REAL) "loss."

Good thread. I'm working on getting my web dev business off the ground. Currently doing some free work for a local farmer's market but there are other jobs in the pipeline when I'm done.

Do you happen to live in Canada? I'm wondering how much my insurance would go up if I start driving for uber.
