You are making the mistake that there is a real emotional connection from women towards you. It is yet another tool of manipulation and control.
Women are too solipsistic and narcissistic to waste real emotions on anyone but themselves. Love does not exist and women know it, we see relationships as a bond between humans and they see it as a business contract.

It's harder when you're younger, but gets much easier when you're older.

The people who still act like they're in high school in their 30s are actually the fucking losers of that demographic. Everyone else has learned to live as an independent our coupled adult.

Point is, there is no hard and fast rule. When you're younger, groups will matter more. As you age, groups will matter less.

You need to get out there and find out what is right for you. I personally get by on a couple of people I can have a good chat with once a week, and occasionally binge on reddit or an mmo guild.

I am 37. When I was younger I had more social interaction. As I grow older I am sure that I will have less.

Think about how humans have lived for the majority of their history and then think if you need to go out with friends 2 times a week to trendy restaurants and take pictures of your food.

Yes, when you move out (if you haven't already), you'll learn to enjoy your freedom pretty quickly. The need to socialize is natural, especially in your late teens (from personal experience, it starts to decay exponentially as you approach your mid twenties), but feelings of worthlessness or depression due to your social standing are not.

Practical advice: cut down on social media and put yourself in more situations where you can meet new people IRL. And, though it's easier said than done at your age, try to internalize the fact that other people's opinions of you don't matter. Treat your interactions with others more casually and analyze social situations from a redpilled perspective.

Try to get it out of your system by dating lots of women. Just use some commonsense like protection and avoiding marriage. Eventually the novelty will die.

Just do a little self reflection in your free time. That's what I usually do to stop the lonely feeling. Let me give you an example.

Say you have a thing for A. You can't stop thinking about her, you can't stop imagining wanting to bed her or marry her. So this is what you do. List all the good things that could come out of being with her and list the bad things. Compare the two, and if one outweighs the other then you make that decision. Basically just do a cost benefit/risk benefit analysis.

You are asking us how to change your own viewpoint. First you must ask yourself, How would the man you ultimately want to be view relationships? Consider that your life is a struggle to become the person you want to be. Who decides what kind of person that is?

For most men that will be what Television, movies, social media and the societal norms among their family and peer group dictate. They'll parrot the traditional role, try to find "the one" and then enter into a very disadvantaged legal contract. Be "A real man" etc. essentially the "blue pill".

Some percentage of men will see past the blue pill and come to understand the reality of the world in which they live (i.e. "red pill") and will either be put off buy it generally (mgtow) or try to use it to their own advantage to satiate their desire for carnality (pua).

To go further, all this crap is just word salad to describe a bizarre set of behaviors developed because we are animals driven by our own base instinct to perpetuate the species. We're living on a rock that's orbiting a star in a universe so vast we can't even truly comprehend it's magnitude. We're literally dust, but our entire worldview is, of course, our self. But then that's just my opinion. You have to forge your own identity, good luck.

We may not be able to change our instincts of wanting to care for beings other than ourself, but we can choose who/what we care for, don't fight what you can't change simply work with it
