I remember when the power went out in my apartment. I asked for them to send someone to flip the central safety switch. She said she will send for someone. A couple of hours later, no one had shown up. I called back and asked when they will be here. She said: "I don't know maybe in a week." I said they are supposed to be here in an hour, she said no. I called later and another person answered and they sent someone to fix it for me right away.

I have worked customer service on the phones for 10+ years now (I know, it's shit) and I am the best representative in the entire call center stats wise.

I don't play stupid, I get shit done immediately, and rectify any situations that need to be taken care of genuinely without problem and will go above and beyond unless you're an abusive asshole.

Women like to sugarcoat shit and try to manipulate you into their resolutions (surprise?).

Let's be real here, this isn't a gender issue. There are plenty of incompetent weasel males in customer service and females that do the job well. The numbers are not skewed enough, generally, to make this worth while. You'll waste more of your own time more often than not.

Recently I've been having slow internet issues. The first couple of calls to my ISP were answered by women and we got nowhere. You could tell they were just reading from a script and all they could think to do was to restart the router, or to ask me to move my equipment nearer to it.

On the 3rd call I got a guy who was cheerful and friendly. He quickly identified the issue and made some changes his end and while we waited for the speed tests to run we even chatted a little about where we were both from and about some sport.

The whole thing was sorted in under 10 mins and has been working properly ever since. Not all women are useless with this kind of thing, but in my experience, men are much more on the ball, and friendlier too!
