I was actually stuck in a COSTCO waiting for car service recently, and as I browsed the aisles, I started seeing the pattern of fresh luxury produce (high quality preseasoned/prep food that all had sell-by dates of 2/14), and I thought to myself, if I'm going to be funneled into an economic calendar timeline where this holiday is synced to my interest in discretionary spending, I thought how nice it would be to treat ole #1 to a special meal.

Dude...now that I think about it. Vegeta has no friends. Goku is the closest thing to a friend that he got. He always wants to compete against him in pretty much anything. I mean he got bulma and his family but he ain't got no other male friends in his age group. The rest of the gang are more like acquaintances.

The thing he does at that point where some are turned to stone and he does something heroic (trying not to spoil for those I'm envious of that haven't yet seen Dragon Ball) was really touching because it truly made his real self shun through his curse that made him even more evil.

Well yes. Goku is like that one semi-annoying friend that you got. Annoying but still a friend. I can picture that from Vegeta's perspective. I mean if he has to hang out in a crowd, then I'm sure Goku is the one that he'll hang out with anyway. He'll probably listen to Goku saying something stupid and proceed to calling him an idiot. At the very least, he'll respect Goku's strength. A friendship is built on equal footing and mutual respect for each other.
It kind of remind me of Lamar and Franklin in GTA 5. At times I'm sure Franklin is very annoyed with Lamar's antic but he knows he's still a friend. It's his homie. Lamar himself even said that Franklin can get on his nerves.
