They sure have a habit of forgetting the shit they do to you. About 4 years ago, my gf at the time went back to her ex and basically laughed at me on the phone. I was totally wrecked for a few months.

Anyways, when we were dating in 2012-2013 I was just getting into bitcoin so I would always nerd out about it and try to get her into it, she’d laugh at me and say it was a scam, her ex did real estate and I remember that when we broke up she told me that she didn’t know if I could provide the financial security she wanted.

Last December around the Bitcoin ATH, she calls me and is really interested in meeting up again so we can catch up. I don’t take the bait because I realize she thinks she’s going to get money from me.

I try not to be petty , the desire for people in our culture to show off how low they can be in their pettiness bothers me.

I'd be lying though if I didn't experience the most tangible and intense moment of Schadenfreude when an ex who cheated on me ( maybe twice that I know of ?) , whose family kept criticizing how she was settling for me , who I basically exhausted myself trying to prove I loved and constantly worked to empower and improve our life and at times hers specifically .

She told me over dinner" I didn't realize just how easy you made life for me until you were gone" It's been years sine we had that dinner and just a month ago her grandmother sent me a friend request , I fully expect her to annoy me later this year a our class reunion .

I don't get joy out of seeing her unhappy but holy shit does it feel good to know that she's missed out on the much better man I am that I have grown and molded myself into today due to her shortsightedness way back then .

I didn't have much but every bit I could muster to give to her back then seemed worth it , now I have so much more far beyond just finances to give and she'd be lucky if I even decided to return a text. So many women are constant losers and they have no one to blame but themselves.

My mother asked me to help her pay off a house. She'd moved to another country and bought a new one. She has four sons and one daughter, and her adult daughter was living with her in the new house while we boys all had jobs and provided for ourselves.

She said "if you do, I'll make sure you get something in my will". I thought about it and said no...I'm your son, shouldn't I get something in your will anyway?

She passed away two years ago. None of her sons got anything, our sister got everything.

Personally. If I had the money I would have tried to get the house when it went to auction after being foreclosed on. Then, you could have offered to rent the house back to her lol.
