That's me my whole life. People don't even message me to check how I am doing (people who I've helped before, including financially).
EDIT: Here is an example I just had last week while messaging this guy I hadn't seen for a while.
Me: hey man Me: are you still around? Him: yeah Me: do you still play the guitar? Him: yeah [Conversation ends]
Me: hey man
Me: are you still around?
Him: yeah
Me: do you still play the guitar?
[Conversation ends]
This is literally a copy-paste just changing our phone numbers to Me and Him.
I haven't really talked to someone for at least a year now, and the last person I actually had an actual conversation was my therapist.

These types of people have a special place in hell.

These and the ones who post a problem asking for help, figure out/find out the solution for the problem and then proceed to edit it to "Nvm, fixed" instead of posting the solution.
They are the modern day Brutus and Cassius.

Man, this annoys me the most, when you are trying to keep contact with someone, but they just make these 1 line responses or whatever. And then if you stop being the one to start messaging, then you're the one they complain about because you're too much of a recluse or whatever.
Anyway, I did find some friends that i chat with even on forums on the internet, discord channels and so on where we had common interests. It seems like it's easier to make connections that way than real life for some reason.
[–]BravePea 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This is the kind of response I would get out of 99% of the girls on tinder, when I tried that abomination aeons ago. However, when you start getting the same responses from people you've known for over a decade you start to learn that you don't have shit in terms of friends.
[–]elementalwalruss1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yep. But then you know how the media or whoever complains that people are too distant now. Well what the fuck do you want me to do, I'm trying my best, but it's a 2 way street.
Tbh I think people are just too used to being comfortable on the internet, so if there's someone who is different than them, with more interests or different ones or whatever, they don't feel like trying as hard. Whereas before you kinda had to try even if you didn't see eye to eye perfectly with someone.

Depression used to afflict usually unmarried women, widows or the solidier returning from the battlefield in its many myriad ways like melancholy, sadness or suicidal tendencies. Now even a youth in his prime, a 12 year old kid or even a man living his dreams will be saddled with it. The effective feminization of schools, gynocentrism in public arena, single-mother households & lack of fatherly guidance has resulted in a vast number of males being depressed and feeling hopeless & powerless.
The only effective way of combating it would be to embrace our inner masculinity, reject the effeminacy inculcated in us from childhood by our mothers & teachers and make an effort to be social & productive. Many psychiatrists nowadays are trained in feminized psycho-babble & a feminist curriculum which really cant help a man looking to build on his masculinity. They will further entrap you into a "I am a victim" self-pity closet which will simply emasculate us men.

It's also because of the food we eat/our lifestyle in general. At least i usually do low carb, high/healthy fat, exercise and fasting and I do notice quite a dip in my mood when i stop doing it and eat some crap (which I did the last few weeks unfortunately). I think there's some relation with your gut health and limphatic system to be honest. Afaik most serotonin for ex is made in your gut. And you need to move in order to make the limphatic system work.
[–]tindalos77 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Ya I have heard about the serotonin deficiency. Probably there could be a three-way link with the production of testosterone, serotonin generation in nerve cells and mental illness in males. Anyways it's better to exercise regularly even if the three-way link theory has been proved or not.
well even if it's not proven, from my experience a healthy body does lead to a healthier mind. i think the gut biome matters quite a bit as well, we haven't really eaten many fermented foods lately and i think they're quite important.

I don't really have problems with it. I enjoy working out in a fasted state, I could never really work out properly with my belly full or whatever is recommended. Though it might take a bit to get fat adapted before you can properly work out in a fasted state, not sure. I've been fasting regularly for about a year now so can't remember exactly if it was hard for me at the beginning or not.
Though do try taking some salt and maybe caffeine before a work out. Especially the salt seems to help me anyway (probably because electrolytes - better mind-body connection). I will want to try without caffeine, not sure if it helps or not, sometimes it doesn't seem to make much difference.

The more they care less, the more tragic things like this can happen.

They can discuss with their closest male friends or familiy. But not with women tho. It might earn you their sympathies temporarily but a few day and they will start seeing you as weak.

He’s a troll, don’t bother.
[–]Mgtaoteching5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don’t think that’s healthy. Everyone has feelings. If you suppress them, you’re going to have a bad time, mkay?
Granted, there are a range of people I would not discuss these matters with: coworkers, acquaintances.
[–]boytjie0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I tend to agree. In my culture, men are kinda stoic and do not wear their feelings on their sleeve or gush about their problems to anyone who'll listen.
