ABsolutely correct. The free market works both ways. Workers can shop around for companies and vice versa. The only caveat is that is makes you look undependable if you change jobs constantly. I'd recommend no sooner than six months per gig if the market sector is booming, no less than one year per job otherwise. Always be learning a new skill you can showcase to your next employer.

I do it all the time, I'm also hypergamous with women. I know that I have zero chance of finding a woman who is more attractive than me but, two can play at that game. I'm not giving into their hypergamous nature.

If your workplace isn't taking care of your needs time to trade up . Seems a little less evil when it's not a promise of lifetime commitment being forsaken and just an at - will employment contract being broken up right ?

But you can continue the analogy - women being hypergamous often results in them being miserable. Always looking for that next branch stops them understanding the value and enjoying what they already have. And like a women who has had a rapid string of partners, a potential employee who has rapidly left a string of jobs looks bad (broken in some way, unloyal etc).

Agree! If you can start monkey branching slowly into your own business. Start part time and if you see that it's going well and there's good chanse of growing then make the move and just focus on your business. Preferably something you like doing. Win win ;)
