My guess is it's a mock engine, used to determine if the engine will fit or not. Giant waste of money when you could just spend the time to see if the real engine will fit or not lol.

Looks like some kind of GM crate motor -- it's not an original GTO 389 or 400, based on the modern intake plenum. It could be a foam mock-up used to see how everything fits before installing the actual engine. That would explain how the guy is holding it.

Around 400 with aluminum but cant see bottom could have it gutted no crank shaft pistons cams ect bet you could at least break 100 pounds saved up to 200 if heads are light weight ect.

You can really only identify the intake manifold. It's for 4 bolt throttle body so it's not an LS1 or LS6.

A bare LS2 block is about 110 lbs. The cylinder heads are about 55 lbs together. I've sold and shipped both so I remember the weights. I don't see a crank pulley and also no crankshaft but that could be the angle of the picture. If it doesn't have a rotating assembly in it it probably weighs ~250 lbs. Can't tell if it has an oil pan on it or not too.
Fully dressed LS2s weigh in the mid 400s. That's with an accessory drive though too.

Oh damn that’s right. I forgot the ls1/6 is a 3 bolt intake. I did an ls swap years ago and been sporting a fast intake forever and completely forgot.

Savage. The sad thing is, it's barely even an exaggeration.
As someone who has a red 1967 GTO that is swapping the original (knocking) Pontiac engine out for an engine in the same engine family as the one this guy is holding, it's pretty funny.
