They hamster this by saying that they are under societal pressure to be thin while conventiently ignoring that much of that societal pressure is in the shitty media they choose to consume. Even fat women don't have much difficulty landing a boyfriend in this day and age.
Whereas men are under societal pressure to be tall and have very specific genetic traits that can't be changed lest they remain single forever.

The problem is that weight is a reversible attribute, whereas height isn't.
Weight is something that you can control and something that essentially affects your overall health, height is not.
Discrimination towards changeable attributes is completely acceptable and ethical.
And that's the difference.
