I read all three just recently. "Rational Male" needs to be heavily edited and reformatted, but the information is solid. AFP was kind of boring, but the premise that women are in control of men from childhood makes perfect sense. If you were raised by a single mother, then you really feel the effects of what he's talking about.

"Manipulated Man" was by far the best. It confirmed (from the female perspective) what I have suspected all along: that women see sex more as a tool or a means to an end, whereas men see it as the end in itself. When the author said that women weren't too worried about sex and would be just as happy (or even happier) doing things that garnered validation from other women (going shopping, hosting a tea party) instead of having sex, that pretty much solidified my understanding of how women view it.

It makes sense, too. Women are essentially in a position to be able to have sex whenever they want to, so I could see how they would push it down their list of priorities. Because the vast majority of men don't have that ability, having sex when the opportunity presents itself tends to remain near the top of the ladder for most of us.

I hope someone comes along and updates "Manipulated Man" and its ideas for the modern world.

These are solid recommendations OP. I've read all three and have nice hardcover versions of the first two after really appreciating what they had to say. Vilar's was my favorite as well, probably because I read it before the others.
