Do you think that prehistoric men went through some of the same shit that men today went through. Imagine a cave man who lives with a tribe who is a good hunter, but who isn't the leader of the tribe. He contributes to their survival. He's a reason for their success, as he's good at making weapons and good at using them, and is sometimes the one who has made the kill. Then he's skilled in butchering the beast. But it's always a team effort. One man can't typically go out and kill a wild mammoth. They always have to team up. So this dude does well, but he's not the chief. The chief is the strongest man and is who organizes the hunts and makes all the rules. I can see our first guy thinking, "Shit, why won't a woman mate with me? They all bang the chief only."

Do you think some shit like this happened eons ago?
