Well...short of recognizing that as a female it is astronomically unlikely that she will ever be fully content with anything for very long, she should I suppose go ahead and callously throw away her good thing, go out and seek the transitory and temporary thrills of riding the cock carousel, then contact the original guy in ten years or so post-wall after options have dried up to see if she can get back together with the original guy. By then, simp-winds willing, he will have already long since moved on to other adventures.
