I've been lurking on this sub for just under one year. My divorce is due in about one month and, I'll be honest, I've made out like a bandit. Kept the house, the dogs, all the stuff I wanted...with the exception of the ex's debt. Whatever....after 3 years it'll be paid off and I'll be home free.

Cutting to the chase though, I was at a an event this evening with friends which went well despite my crippling social anxiety (a result of my marriage which everyone has acknowledged) and also included a girl which my friends have been keen to push on me.

All night she's cold, dismissive and practically ignores me. Fine, I'm not interested anyway. Part way through however I make a joke comment to one of the other guys about something innocuous. She takes this opportunity to pipe up and verbally attacks me with some vitriol. Now, this girl doesn't even know my name nor anything about me. I laugh in her face, drink my drink and move on. For the remainder of the evening if I'm subjected to 'death stares'.

Now, I made this comment specially to 'shit test' her as she'd been hitting on one of my, ironically, taken friends. And wouldn't you know she took the bait and ran with it.

Just confirms everything I've read here. They cannot stand when they are not the centre of attention. How dare I deflect from the brainless babble trickling from her mouth. I'm clearly a virgin despite being married for 12 years.

God help me I can't take off the They Live sunglasses. Every interaction just solidifies how completely useless they are. I'm past the point of red pill rage and feel I'm slipping into a state of despair. I'm positive I'll spend the rest of my days alone...but is that really a bad thing?
