I've been using DuckDuckGo for nearly 2 years now. I find my searches are FAR more accurate to what I'm looking for. Even for completely non political subjects.

Most companies are just catalysts to whatever drivel society is trying to push. Google is trying to appeal to the more progressive audience and keep up with the times so as to not offend any fucking snowflakes who might get pissed off at this stuff.
Seriously, is there actually any point for fucking Microsoft and google to change their logos to the rainbow flag to appeal to gay people, if not for making money?
Take this with a grain of salt, this stuff is mostly decided by algorithms that suggest shit based on people’s search patterns.
This isn’t google trying to cuck you, this is simply a reflection of the product of what people generally search and a company’s incentive to make money

Look past that mate, they’re not changing the world for the better. They’re just trying to appeal to the dumb fucks who think they’re changing the world for the better.
When people “catch” them manipulating search results and doing things that people want (see the choice of words here, ‘want’ not ‘need’), people would be more inclined to think that google is working with them, and they’d be subconsciously more supportive of Google’s predatory policies without giving any second thought to the implications of some of google’s actions like spying on people and collecting their data.
At least that’s the way I see it.
Google is nothing but another faceless corporation seeking to make money by providing some benefit. Take what they provide if you need it, but be cautious of predatory practices. Same procedure as any other company.
Edit: reading into this further, I found out that Google openly admitted to this and wasn’t caught doing it. And that they’re trying to paint this “warrior for equality” image. Confirms my suspicion
