As the one-year anniversary of the day I graduated high school approaches, I am running out of time to make a decision. It has been expected of me by my parents (it's mostly my mother who often reminds me) that I enroll in our local community college, thus beginning my academic career in a field I have not yet chosen (it will probably be a trade). My dad shared with me that should I enroll in classes (in whichever field or school), that I would not have to worry about any and all expenses, as they would cover me. Grateful as I am, it pains me to envision myself continuing to live any longer within the fever which is my family. I have a mother, a father, and highschool freshman of a little sister.

My options, as I set them out to be, are either staying home and going to college or joining the military in an attempt to get out of the house. Either that, or I could live on my own, but that isn't really a smart (or necessary) plan to me, and I don't see myself in a viable position for such a condition.

Of course, I'm just nineteen years old and I've barely any faculty for determining the magnitude of either decision. I recognize that I'm overthinking things. Still, it doesn't hurt to mull things over in your head and get advice.
