Well, at least he didn't allow it. Media and feminism is influencing women to think that this isn't a big deal, to ask or execute. Also, it has seemingly been lost on women that nearly all women can get sex much easier than nearly all men. So, this type of relationship isn't "fair". They'd probably answer "Is it her fault that she is hot and can get laid easy?" which of course is a misframing that misses the point.

What the "right thing to do" actually is, will always be objective.

She made the mistake of exposing a very fickle part of herself. She showed herself to be unfaithful and indecisive about what she wants in life. You can't change people. I think you did the right thing walking away from her before you got in any deeper. There are many women out there, you found her and you can find others.

Her father sounds like a self important prick. He was probably trying to earn points with his daughter, whom he clearly failed as a father seeing how she's a lousy partner. If it was me, I would tell him i'm not interested in his daughter anymore, and hang up.
