On an observational level, this is deeply disturbing. Females are very submissive to the male and will always try to distance themselves from danger.

However, even in saying that, lions have large, thick manes to protect against this very act happening. I think there are other hands involved in this tragedy, and a couple of my fingers are pointing at the zoo itself.

I read this in the newspaper and I knew this would get posted here. Not be that guy but animals are just unpredictable. Male lions kill lioness as well. This should be a lesson for all the people who believe in disney shit like 'animals are cute!'.
