At 46, I've noticced that as I have gotten older, I enjoy things that have more of a process or routine. I grind beans and make my own espresso. I like good sipping whiskey, single barrel or small batch bourbon and single malt scotch. I enjoy a nice hand-rolled cigar. Hell, my car... I picked up a 2000 Audi S4... it's a 30v twin turbo v6, awd, 6mt. You have to let oil temp build before getting to into boost to keep the turbos healthy, and let them cool before shutting the car off. I reload my own ammuntion and do long range shooting. I have two motorcyles, the gear up routine before riding is part of the cathartic experience of going for a ride. I got a smoker for christmas last year, I do an all day cook at least twice month. I like to tinker inthe garage with the S4 and the bikes. I even threw away the disposable razors for a classic Merkur DE safety razor. I just got a damascus straight razor that I'm learning to use. I'm a machinist, and that has it's own myriad of prcesses to complete a job. Hell, when I mow I plan out the pattern. I wondered if any of you lot found yourself drawn to things that aren't the quick and easy way.
