I’d recommend you look into building it using a game engine such as Unity. It’ll allow you, as an artist, to get something up and running faster than starting out learning a programming language like Java, (which is the usual android development environment), and doing the whole game from scratch.

Java is required for developing apps on Android. Though I understand that pyMob will translate python code for developing on Android. If you want to do it right however, and skip any bugs pyMob might introduce, I'd recommend using Java natively. I still use eclipse for Android applications, but I understand that Google has a separate IDE now called Android Studio. Last I checked Android Studio was free like eclipse but that may have changed. Android Studio seemed a little more confusing than eclipse, but it may have just been my unfamiliarity.

Python is good for microservices. Use Django framework or Flask for that.

For android app, you only have 3 convineant option. Use Kotlin if you already know Java, flutter framework made by Google that allows you to develop app in JavaScript and Kivy Python framework.

Python has the largest libraries available. Ideally you can develop everything in Python. But it doesn't mean it will be as good as kotlin which is exclusive for android app development.

I develop Android apps. Highly recommend you learn Java if you want to develop primarily on Android. Alternatively, you can learn C# with the Unity Engine for gaming (might be better for you since the engine handles the really messy bit of converting your Unity projects to an APK and is more beginner friendly than Java, imo) Unity has coded libraries that support and help it port anything you've made in it to Android pretty quickly.

C# or Java. Which ever one fits with what you want.

Im a game programmer. Go straight to Unity + C#, is the easiest, it has tons of tutorials, it gives you tools that you won't find otherwise, and you are not tied to a single platform.

Python is good to learn how to program algorithms and such. Its used a lot in schools. If you don't know anything about programming, a entry level course in python will help you. But isn't a popular language for game development.

Java + Android Studio is mostly used for other kind of applications, not for games. You could use it but its a pain in the ass.
