So, a single man approaches a woman he finds sexy and asks for her number (more recently) or possibly asks if she would like to go on a date sometime(1940s). In the past, aka like the 1940s, this was standard operating procedure and the woman either said yes or no to the proposal. They did not get creeped out or go crazy about it being sexual harrassment or some insane crime because it was normal to approach someone you liked and ask them out. It was one of the only ways anyone got married or had a relationship because the man always did the first approach. Now, in the 21st century, this became creepy and taboo. It is entirely dependent on the woman's opinion of the situation. It does not matter if it was a civil question in the first place, all that matters is what she thinks of the man. Somehow society deemed this okay. Feminism wants women to do the approaching and of course that doesn't happen. So, one is left with two options. The first, is just approaching a woman and knowing the whole time your ass could get sued or you may be a criminal depending on how she thinks of it. The second , is to not approach first and let her do it but then you'll never get laid. Option 3 is to say fuck all these mind games and just get an escort. But does anyone know around what time a man approaching a woman for a date became extremely stigmatized and taboo?
