No it doesn’t make you weak but most of us were the same way once.

I was once a hopeless romantic- did my best to be everything she needed.... and you know what? It was fucking exhausting and it was still never enough.

Even if you are perfect in every way it won’t be enough because the level you have set now becomes her minimum and one day you will fail to live up to it and she will cheat.

I’m sorry I know it’s a bleak outlook.

‘True love’ along with ‘romantic love’ are false concepts created to make people spend money. These things are not natural and do not exist outside of fiction.

Normal ‘love’ exists and is possible between human beings but is always conditional. You may say you love your girl, and she you, but what happens if you lose your job? Get paralyzed? She gets a huge raise and out-earns you? She meets her ex and feels good with him? She gets bored of you?

You need to experience it first hand to understand.

I'm really not trying to be condescending, but you sound young. As an old guy, I will tell you that this passes.

Choose different media to watch. Avoid love songs in music, and romantic movies. Start feeding your brain with positive things.

Focus more on improving yourself. Now that I am old, when I work with young people, I recommend they treat their lives like a shark- always moving forward (personally and professionally), never staying in the same place, or you will die.

Do not take your sense of self-worth from others. If you are always moving ahead, you will not have time to be unhappy with who you are. Focus on who you will be.
