Early Retirement?

...I'm 60...yesterday in fact...retired at 57...everything well planned and in place. Divorced by cheating wife at 58. Heading back to work after losing half of my 30 year pension...be careful out there.

Since I still have over 20 years til retirement, I think about it a lot. I do have a plan, and never getting married again will ensure that it can actually happen. Unlike in the divorce, where she took half my retirement account.

Got started relatively late. I wish I knew 10 years ago fresh out of school that which I now know, The MGTOW mindset and all that encompasses.

Own my home by 40. Buy 2nd property by 48 and rent out. Buy 3rd property by 55 and rent out. Save all that income on top of the lion's share of my pay for a couple more years, to then retire and do extensive travelling for about 3 years straight. Return home, then either stay there or weigh up which countries at that time would suit me best and make my money go further, probably about 60-62 at this point. Live on my modest rental income, hobbies may supplement my income. State pension clicks in about 70 for me on current projections, at that point I sell my 2 rental properties and live a very comfortable life until I croak.

All subject to change given how economies, demographics, politics, health and opportunities afforded are all variables to be considered.

What isn't a variable is that I know I will only ever be catering for 1, that makes things a lot more simple.

I'm 55. I hit my retirement goals last year. Not having gf means I could live inexpensively and save, and work more and save that. More importantly, it gave me the freedom to take risks that paid off. Bet your life's savings on stuff that has only a ten percent chance kind of things that paid off big time when they worked.

I didn't stop once I hit my goals. Not really interested in retiring yet. I like what I do.

I'm 32, have 8 years left on the mortgage for my flat. Planning to retire from my current job and sell the flat in 10 years, move from London to Cornwall and get a less stressful job than the one I have now.

I think about it quite a lot, as I do indeed have a plan in motion.

Staying MGTOW is pivotal in achieving my early retirement goal.

I'll be retiring in about 10-15 years time - of course it depends on various factors, hence the envelope.

The problem with retiring early as MGTOW is you won't have anyone to spend time with since everyone else you know will be working until death or close to it. I think this might be the reason all the online FI gurus are without exception married (also for the tax benefits).

Currently mid 40s. Divorced in early 40s with no assets (or debts), so I've just started gunning for FIRE last year when my baby momma payments ended.

Even with a decent income, I feel soooo far behind. I'm maxing out my 401k, HSA, and Roth IRA. Plus a share or two of an index fund each paycheck if I have the spare funds. If I can keep this up for 10 years I'll have invested a quarter-million of principle (not even adjusting for the "make up" payments after age 50 -- too lazy to do the extra math). If the market doesn't implode, I should be in decent shape by my mid 50s. I may even have my house paid off, so it's conceivable I could RE before 60.

But to be honest, I'd probably literally die of boredom, so I'll likely just continue to competently phone it in at work until I see reason to do otherwise. I have yet to find a post-divorce passion I can throw myself into. I hope that changes in the next decade, because I'm not really enjoying my new life without a purpose.

Lost a lot after a 22 yr LTR. $500K house , two cars. Left with debt she gets to walk away from.Starting again at 44.

Saving hard and a decent super that she cant touch thanks to western Australia separation laws. She gets none of my pension. Once my kids are sorted , my plan is to go live in Thailand or Vietnam .Cheaper than Australia , can live a good life there for 10-12 K a year. Look at doing some work every so often ...contract shutdown work every few months on a casual basis. Make a few thousand for a few weeks work to top up the bank balance. Investing solidly in shares now also to have a good nest egg .

Sort of semi retired now, early 30s. Working a 4 day week with half a million net worth.

Mgtow has saved me tons of cash! The beauty of mgtow is that without a female in your life, it's very easy to achieve minimalism and with that, financial freedom.

With lesser work, comes lesser stress, more time to exercise, healthier life with cash to enjoy it! Mgtow is the way!

Edit: I forgot to include my pension, with that, my net worth is 700k

Yup. Punched out in my mid-forties several years ago. Never marrying or having kids, driving simple vehicles, and living in a one bedroom place for many years are what made it possible for me. It's not for everybody, but if you can study hard enough to have a good income (with some luck too) and you don't turn into a spending machine every time you get a promotion, it's totally possible.
