I was playing a game called Runescape (mmorpg game, since middle school almost 9 years now), I was in a clan who socialize. One day the original leader left the clan due to his wife passing away(she was playing the game as well) and we needed a new clan leader; named john. The clan was in peril and we needed people to help build our clan once again and then he offered me a high rank position involving recruiting new clan mates which I took in an instant. One day, when I was recruiting, a person showed up and asked what was our tier (tier 7 being the highest) and asked if she could join(her name was Beth), I said yes. Later on, the clan leader invited me into a skype chat group to talk to Beth (which was rare since the skype chat was only used for high rank players to discuss clan activities) and asked if I was "cool" to let the new recruit to gain a high rank status and he explained that the new recruit had like 6 accounts(paid membership which was like 14 dollars per month) to use them to help build our clan faster than finding and recruiting new people. I agreed with the other high rank people and she received the rank, then she talked and said "Thank you, the reason why I had these many accounts was for an old clan before it fell apart"(she was a 60 year old woman playing a game fyi). Everything was good until one day a clan member messaged me that Beth was harassing him into helping to maintain our clan citadel. I talked to him and he send me pictures of the conversation then I went to talk to John, then he said he would talk to her. Later, he told me that she didn't mean to sound rude and was trying to get clan members to help build our citadel and asked "we're cool right?" and I said "yeah". Later, it happened again(multiple times actually) till one day she called me on skype and told me that why I was going against her and taking the sides of the clan members and not her. I told her that she was a nasty person and had problems to talk to our members in the clan respectfully. Later, John called me and told me that I wasn't acting responsible as a high rank clan member and heard everything from Beth. He told me this was the last time we talked about this and said "we're cool" and I said "sure". It happened again then the leader called me with another person on the line and told me "I'm going to demote you until you learn how to be a responsible high rank clan member", I said nothing and I saw my rank changed in an instant "we're cool right" and I left the clan.

I've been in the clan for two years and always helped out my clan members when they needed me the most. I was the only one who helped rebuild the clan to it's former glory. All the time I put in the clan was wasted away from this pinche vieja (fucking old bitch in spanish).

Retribution: When I decided to leave the clan(the reason above) my clan members started to message me like nonstop asking why I left the clan and I explained the reason to them. The clan members asked that the clan wasn't the same without me and asked if they could join me if I ever decided to make a clan myself and I did. 40 of the 50 clan members joined my new clan over the course of one week. Then the old clan started to message me and asked why I was stealing their clan members I gave them no response. After 3 months, the old clan started to fall apart reverting back to tier 1 while mine was tier 4 and growing. That day, I started to see a new light that I never saw before. I was always a nice, kind person to everyone I met (especially to girls) but after that experience, I wondered to myself, "If a 60 year old woman can destroy my reputation in a virtual game, I could not imagine what would happened to me if this was in IRL (In Real Life)".
