I got rid of all mine in 2005. Best buds until they got married and then I was persona non grata. I'd had enough of the made up slanderous stories without a thread of truth being spread around about me. Shortly after walking away from everyone I knew over the last 30 years, all the stories just stopped with in a short period of time.

I still run into people I just don't volunteer anything going on in my life. I also let everyone I know that the reason I have nothing to do with any of them anymore was do to all the made up stories. And I always throw in that if these flat out lies are being spread around about me, what are these same people saying about "YOU"? I always get that same deer in the head light look, and they get away from me as fast as they can.

Has anyone ever dealt with fake male friends?

I have. There was once this chick, who thought that we're all equal and she can do everything a man can. Failed to open a jar and needed help, so she asked me to help her. I still, to this day, don't know if that jar lost its lid.

I've been living by myself for years and love it, honestly the less you have to deal with people the less stress you have.

Sorry, I haven’t had that problem. But the reason is not what you might think.

I think I must be schizoid or something. I have never had friends, I have never wanted or desired friends and I even have a hard time understanding the concept of lonliness or that other people actually yearn for company. Movies and shows portraying ”family” and ”friendship” as important are just weird to me. To me, being alone is the highest form of bliss.

I do have aquaintances. I can derive satisfaction from deep intellectual communication with them. But if you’d ask me about my ”friends”, I don’t know. I’ve been on very good terms with people at work or school, but as soon as I graduate or quit, it’s like ”Well, it’s been nice knowing you. Have a good life.” And I never see them again.

I have sex (at least before #MeToo). But it stops at the physical level.

I care about people, but more out of principle than emotion, what the greeks would call ”Agape”.

I don’t know if this is a handicap or not. It has worked for me so far and I would describe myself as happy and fullfilled.

I guess I’m just a naturally born MGTOW.

Those who remain that I can actually call friends fit conveniently on one hand.

I’ve got a lot of loose acquaintances, and I’m tempted to let them go too. Most of them are on FB, which I do very little with these days anyway. It would not be too heavy of a loss.

Good advice but what do I do if my annoying coworkers are right next to me throughout my whole shift? I wanna get a new job but that’s too much. I feel like there has to be a better way of dealing with it. Any help?

I still don't understand this. Why would you be friends with someone who puts you down in front of other people? I've never had that problem but then again I hang out with the same 5-12 guys and they're all chill
