We went for a walk on the beach shortly after we arrived in America, a seriously hurt depressed man following a divorce he wasn't expecting, and losing his career simultaneously and moving continents.

He asked me, an 11 year old, what I thought the best way to kill himself he should use.

He, a man with an MBA and a CPA, who worked for one of the most powerful corporations on the planet, ended up being reduced to being a breakfast cook at a Hardee's when unemployment ran out, so he could put me through private schools to hopefully have an education one day and get a step up in life.

My dad is honestly the best dude I know. He is half the reason I am MGTOW (The other half being my own relationship misadventures). But he had me out of wedlock and he got a paternity test right off and once he found out I was his son he did whatever he could to be a part of my life. He fought tooth and nail for custody. Which of course he didn't win but he was willing to put up what I later found out was way too much fucking money in child support just to get a minimal amount of time with me. While my mom would talk shit on him all throughout my childhood he never said a bad word about her. It wasn't until I was an adult and expressed my own misgivings about her did he tell me the whole story. Because he didn't want me to hate my mom growing up.

I don't keep in touch with my father much. He was a control freak and constantly beat up me and my brothers when I was a kid. Though I think I did well in math and physics thanks to his engineering education and explanations how physics works when he wasn't a raging ape.

My dad made me MGTOW.

Not because he's MGTOW, quite the opposite. He's a white knight.

I've seen him spend thousands of dollars on his girlfriend's kids Christmas presents. I've seen him drive 3 hours to her house because "she needed him". I've seen him torn because he wanted to save his relationship with his psycho girlfriend (ex now), but didn't want to leave his own dad who was in the hospital for a heart attack. (Thankfully the last one finally red pilled him enough to dump her ass)

And when he breaks free and clear from this parasite of a woman, he goes and gets married to a nagger.

In spite of all his flaws, greatest man I ever met.

As a kid he was brutally honest about all his struggles and willing to talk openly and honestly about almost anything. I learned so much about what to do and what NOT to do from watching and talking to him.

Still my best friend.

Can't really stand mine anymore. Respect him a little bit for his determination in hard work, but I can't stand interacting with him socially - particularly watching sports. The last few years I lived at home I refused to watch sports with him (every play, no matter the sport, included holding, a ref missing something, or a "choke" from the player; so much negativity, it's intolerable)
