I work in the private security sector. The amount of female security officers I encounter? Basically none. They would rather do cushy office jobs. Or childcare.

While I agree I must say this isn't a just women issue.

I've worked with plenty of guys who do the same shit. In fact, currently I work with a dude who used to be late constantly. Doesn't wear his uniform, watches Netflix on the company PC and sleeps during his shifts. Now the only thing I cared about was him getting to work on time because my work site is relief dependant meaning I can't leave until my relief arrives, the other shit my manager can deal with. He used to get to work late all the time but I must admit he's gotten better and I appreciate that, but yeah it's not only women. Lol

I hope you are getting paid for the extra time you are putting in or getting some sort of bonus. Otherwise you are a sucker. Only work when you are being paid to work. If you got energy to work more, get another job that pays for your time.

Women hate the concept of work, they detest the fact they have to go out and work and pay bills and shit. Which is the reason why they slack off as much as possible when forced into a job.

I arrive at the office currently at 10:00 and for years got to work at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 - well nearly whenever I wanted (especially important when you have chronic pain issues which hinder you to lay in bed at some nights). Most of us get into office at 9:00 or later. We do our job and reach the hours needed at the end of the month.

Many companies today still expect crazy early hours without the need. Why not more flexible hours instead of risking sleep deprivation for some people (especially us night owls who can't stand being alive pre-noon)?

The place I last worked had a female receptionist. I never saw her for half of the time I was there, which means half of the time the front desk was empty. I did speak to her a lot and everytime I asked it was a different reason: HR training, her kid was sick, surgery, etc.

Did I mention she never, ever stayed there past 5pm?

Numales can be equally dangerous to one's employment or ability to do work I've observed recently. They slack as much as the harpies.

One of my long time colleagues was pushed to the wall by this recent (<1yr) hire's constant lethargy in performing his duties, which causes the whole department to stay late to complete these time dependent operations.

It happens to the best of us on occasion due to an inability to manage all exigencies, but we deal with it with apologies, bribes, humor and a large dollop of jocularity. Unfortunately, my colleague, probably out of exhaustion and exasperation of ruined Friday plans, let his guard down and addressed the numale as he would any of the other guys. Physical mock-violence at worst and a fair bit of harsh language ensue.

Cue a sobbing call to the section chief later that night and my colleague of ten years is gone by the start of the next week. Now our section chief is a woman, late fifties, no-nonsense, hard working, eminently respectable. What choice does she have, really? The real target is not my former colleague, but the company. Like the harpies that sympathize with the numale and immediately dogpile on the evil male, he really just wants a free ride and a solution to all the debt problems he keeps complaining about due to rolling over debt and acquiring a new car every few months.

The whole situation is just nauseating.
