This is a dumb post, feminists protesting against Alabama are Americans. Why should American citizens protest sh*t that happens in the middle east? It’s disheartening when we are held as a class accountable for the crimes of all men, everywhere and everywhen, but we don’t get credit when we do it well.

I get that people should work locally - that makes sense for a large number of reasons - but it’s demoralizing that good behavior isn’t explicitly acknowledged.

Yeah, I absolutely do want to be compared to men elsewhere. That’s not unreasonable. Not because it’s bad there but because it’s really good here.

Okay, I'm going to go ahead and say it: Why the fuck is abortion still a thing?

We know that pregnancy is caused by sex, and if a woman doesn't want a baby and it really is "her body, her choice" then it should be 100% up to her when it comes to her preferred birth control. I understand the logic with "In the cases of rape, incest and when the pregnancy can lead to the death of the mother", but if that were allowed then women would claim that the sex they consented to with their husbands was rape in order to get that abortion. With incest it's simple: don't bone family members. And in cases where pregnancy can lead to the death of the mother, I am okay with.

As for rape leading to pregnancy, is it fair that it happens, no. But it's not fair when a drunk driver rear ends another car crippling the driver who wasn't drunk. It's not fair when a man loses his legs because a psycho planted a pressure cooker bomb at the finish line to a race and he was not too far away from it when it exploded. Life isn't fair. People are going to do shit that will forever change the lives of innocent people.

I have heard the argument that abortion should be allowed because antibiotics can mess with birth control pills. Well, that's common knowledge and even a warning label explains that on some pills, so getting pregnant because you're stupid is no justification for abortion.

And I also want to point out that it's not just your body. That unborn baby has a father. There are grandparents to that unborn child and possibly aunts and uncles, siblings and cousins. It's really selfish for those people to be ignored because it's the woman's body. You had sex, this is the result.
