In my opinion, you should give yourself the freedom to mourn the loss of the relationship. Even prisoners imprisoned for many years can find it difficult to pick up and get on with their lives, and some (so I am told) commit crimes so they can go right back to prison.

Sorry to budge In on your story but I hope you wouldn’t mind I could share mine too.

Was with a girl about 10 years ago, absolutely beautiful and what I considered my best friend, but she ended up leaving and marrying some other guy. I was devastated.

I’ve had 10 years of abusive shit relationships, people using me for money or cheating on me, cutting themselves when I said I’d had enough and needed to move onto being single, being hit, told I’m not man enough despite providing everything that makes their life what it was. Spoilt selfish brats

Then I met a woman who I fell madly in love with for reasons I didn’t know. I thought she was different. She completely used me to bolster herself up and stand back on her feet and needed me to play music on an album. I was stabbed in the back and she just one day cut me from her life. She also scorned MGTOW, being a feminist; saying what a bunch of idiots they were, it was the first time I’d heard of it. She was pure human cancer.

After that I was single a good year, heart broken but open to finding someone, I met a beautiful girl and started to really see a future with her but guarantee every 3-4 weeks we would have an argument. She was vile, acted like a spoilt brat on my 30th bday and scorned me for splashing a whopping £50 on the casino in Venice to celebrate. The relationship was sexless and focused entirely around her moods. We had a lot of arguments about money, despite me providing everything; even a £4000 trip to India that she manipulated me into buying.

Eventually I had enough after another argument was created even after I had lent her £800 to start up a jewellery business, which is no doubt going to fail.

I realised I am the problem. I’m too good to these fucking shit toxic people and I needed to focus that time and energy on myself. I find it really hard because I’ve used women to make myself feel better about the loneliness and ability to cope with my conditions and building that strength internally is the most difficult thing I will do, but it’s worth it..

I should point out a lot of the posts I see on here make us seem like shining beams of light, but IMO were equally to blame for a lot of problems we assume they create in our relationships. I’ve no doubt been a complete cunt in the past to someone by not being honest with myself and in turn that makes me dishonest with them.. from experience; romantic infatuation and lust die quickly, then you might not be so impressed with what’s left behind. Try to see the real person before you invest anything into them. Or start to use a really good hand cream
