More than anything I've found gardening and landscaping is an amazing avenue to curate and create something. It's an incredible outlet to focus one's patience and to actually do something that's of value. While creating a baby, for example, is a passive exercise in biology, to create a garden, or a yard, requires knowledge, patience, diligence, and care. It's a good opportunity for a man to effectuate effort onto the world and create something beautiful.

Very few vegetables can actually evade my gag reflexes, but I am actually looking to get into gardening. I sawed a bunch of seeds from different plants a few weeks ago and taking care of them.
I have a very spacious backyard. What I want to do is grow a garden, buy some hens and quails, build a coop for them, have them feed of the produce so they can provide eggs and meat and if the fruit or veggies sell well I would sell the extra.
I once had a fig tree that was over-producing. Even after the birds ate it from the tree and some were rotten by the insects, I could still manage to pick up about 7 kilos (1kg=2.2lb) of ripe fig per day in less than an hour. Being in Australia, one kilo can sometimes reach $45 in some places. I advertised it online for about $10/kg and had people coming in in droves to buy it. I remember while the season lasted I made about $330. It's not much but it is something.
