Everything here was supposed to disappear. Banned subreddits, deleted communities, cancelled blogs — much of what is archived here survives nowhere else.
It stays free — no paywall, no account — for the next man who comes looking, the way it was free for you.
I pay for the servers, the storage and the bandwidth myself. If you want this record still standing in ten years, become one of the people who keeps it online.

I'm so disappointed in our Tech scene. They really don't do anything beyond the super obvious BS. (Our big apps are Facebook which copied Myspace but with a different UI, Uber which is just a Taxi service, Pandora which is just radio, etc...)
I frequently think about the University you mentioned. We have the technology to do it. You could create an online University where you get the top 25 different instructors in the world on a particular subject and capture all of their lectures on the subject and find the commonalities between them. Add in a ratings system for explanations of specific concepts. Throw in all kinds of different learning metrics and whatnot, and create a free university for the ENTIRE WORLD. You could even do it for K-12. Every teacher is reinventing the wheel everyday and the entire educational experience is woefully inadequate. Such an endeavor could be a tremendous boon to humanity as a whole... But, instead we have Facebook dumbing down humanity. Seriously misguided.
Another frequent though of mine is that there is no oversight over the effects these different technologies have on society. It's just the Wild West with zero liability or regulation. Something like Tinder which singlehandedly managed to entirely destabilize the dating market is potentially catastrophic. Yet we just allow it to occur with no oversight or even a thought as to the potential consequences this tech will have on us.
