It's more versatile and cheaper to buy a used moving truck/van or bus, and outfit it into a self-contained unit or motor home.

Of course, not everyone is able to do it themselves, but if you're willing to become self-sufficient, you going to have to learn by building stuff yourself.

you can do something very similar with a used Casita (fiberglass trailer - egg). Just need to retrofit it with solar panels and a couple AGM deepcycle batteries. That's my plan at least. Plus, the USA is very well set up for RV-er's, there are millions of them out there full-timing. Google Casita RV, Escape RV, Bigfoot RV, Scamp RV (all fiberglass RV eggs). Airstream is a little pricey but also very well built

and also, you're going to need some kind of 'grid' for food and put this thing some place where it actually rains and has wind.

there will probably be wind for a good long while, but the food and the rain are not 100% to be counted on even through the course of our life time.

of course i would also like to be able to fly and submerge it, as well as cloak it or otherwise make it blend in to its surroundings, but this base model is going to be a huge advance in housing. And of course there is nothing they are doing here that can't easily be replicated.

ive been drawing this in my notebook for years, as a trailer, but its a pretty obvious design in my opinion

MGTOW Preppers? Hmmm.... something else to think about.

Food-- depending on where you are you can grow it and shoot it, if you're by a stream you can catch it with decent fishing equipment. It's possible to go completely off-grid--- but if you do it here in the states, expect LEOs to show an interest in your activities.
