As someone who also has bipolar and depression, I would recommend making sure you're taking any medications you've been prescribed. Also try to find a positive outlet for your emotions. Drinking and drugs might seem like the easy alternative, but they are just masking the issue.

Also a piece of advice that I never see for people going through what you are, don't be afraid to feel. By that I mean accept that you feel however you feel (sad, angry, etc). There is nothing wrong with feeling these emotions, especially if you just went through something traumatic. Embrace them. Do what you need to do after that. If you think you need to cry, let it out. If you feel like punching something, go for it (don't be stupid and punch a brick wall, use your brain a little bit). Once you recognize and accept how you feel, you can start to move forward with dealing with them.

Take your medications. Relax every once in a while. Take things slow. Listen to ASMR on YouTube. Everything gets better and better (facts). You got this bro.

Depression festers when your schedule is empty of stuff to do. Keep a job, do it well. Even if it's a shitty one get absorbed in doing it. Pick something to learn and make it your passion and get a career. Volunteer at an animal shelter. Make your days full. If you need meds than I guess you need it, but pills can only treat the symptom and not the cause of misery. You need to make your life about accomplishing stuff.

Hey man. I was diagnosed bipolar 2 years ago. Do not take the meds, they just make you stupid and foggy. I stopped listening to the docs and started my own investigations about my brain chemistry. For starters, take supplements of DLPA and 5-HTP. Those will help you produce enough dopamine and serotonine to stay through the phases. The meds just mess with you and keep you down, those two will just enable your body to make what he needs. Especially 5-HTP will work right away if you are depressed. You're not sick, you're most likely just a bit different :) After pulling my own ass i stopped with drugs, got accepted at mensa and run marathons now. But the supplements were what really made the difference in the beginning and helped me to get my ass up and running. I then got my back aligned and started yoga to keep it that way. You most likely have back or neckproblems that prevent blood flowing to your brain freely. Maybe i'll try therapy next, but things are already looking way better and i hope for you to make it! Fuck pharmacy and google what your brain needs. It does not need meds. Maybe a healthy meal, an upright spine, sports and a little love :) If you need someone to talk or cannot afford the supplements just hit me up, i know it's not easy, but you can do it! I believe in you :) I'm so thankful for how i am now, we're not sick and you'll be loving yourself in no time!
