One more suggestion. go out and eat a good meal. Do something to be kind to yourself. Maybe visit a pet store and look at puppies. You never know where encouragement will come from.

We're all going to die. All is temporary. Bad and good. With the certainty of death comes the liberation of knowing that you hold some guidance to your life. Many of us have been where you are now to some degree; possibly better or definitely worse. If you hold yourself to such a low value then you know you can improve. From the ashes you can rise. Life, as you know, is not easy. Sans the comfort and commodities we now behold, Mother Nature takes no prisoners. I'm assuming you're typing this on a computer of sorts, be that a phone a laptop, etc. That means that you have more "wealth" than an ungodly number of people on earth. Remember, you've been "blessed" with many things. I don't know if you're a 5 foot nothing little guy or an average fat slob or an Adonis. It matters not, because we all have our demons...and angels. I, a random stranger, challenge you to challenge yourself, for you.

Many people in our society do not understand that their feelings about things are generated from within and are a product of the way they think. External stimuli will affect how we feel, because we allow it, or because we lack the understanding that we have a choice in allowing it. It is not something we are taught, and we are not all lucky and/or bright enough to figure it out on our own. The perception is that it is easier to blame somebody else. It is not true. The cost of that is hidden because we do not know, but we pay the price all the same. At some point the damage becomes irreversible, and they cannot be fixed.

That disappointment stemming from our preconceived idealizations is our own fault. It is a rejection of reality. A fine example of cognitive dissonance it is. I want to face reality, but I want to escape it simultaneously because it is so unreal. It is a wonder any of us are sane, are we sane?

This helped me:

"I do not understand the things I do, I do not do what I want to do, and I do the things I hate." (Romans 7:15)

We all make mistakes. Learn from them. Do not repeat them. Dig deep for that resolve to change the way you think, change your perspective. Depression, those feelings, they are a choice. They are not reality, but rather your subconscious telling you shit is fucked up and it is fed up. Start small. Glorious victories are built upon small successes. Pick something that affects you daily that just pussies you off, but you continue to do or put up with. Consider a different way of looking at it, be done with that experience. Change the way you think, then your behavior will follow, as will your experience. It becomes a new habit.

For me it was cutting my worst dietary habits, then it was perfecting my diet, learning how different foods affect me, and gaining mastery over my fuel choices. Exercise was the thing I sort of wanted to do, but could never do. After conquering the diet over about 6 to 8 months, I craved physical activity. It wasn't easy, and I was very thorough. I cut out carbs, then tried introducing many variations of carbohydrate sources. I purposely went back into these old habits, then got back on the wagon until there was absolutely no disputing that the shit feeling was not worth it.

Give it the ol college try. You can kill yourself anytime, there is no rush. There is really nothing to lose by giving life a few more goes.

There's probably more you can change about your scenario. Whatever you need to get through the day is going to have to do, even if it hurts. If you need to quit your job, move away, smoke a bowl, have a drink, whatever. You're not as "Locked in" as you think you are. One more minute of laughter, that is all it takes to go one extra minute. If you can bring yourself to occupy your body and mind for one more day, that is ALL you have to worry about. Nothing else. Let go and get through the day, somehow. Only you know how.

I've been there. I know what hopelessness feels like, and it's easy to rationalize away any reasons to go on, but ignore your emotions and just do something. That's not YOU talking, it's your feelings. You can pull out of it. It's the most challenging thing one can ever do, especially as a man down on his luck. Be better than your feelings. Just go on for one more hour, and then one more afternoon, and then one more day. Change your means to change the end.

If you wanted to be happy as much as you want to end your life, you would be. It takes so much energy to be depressed. Im not dismissing what you're going through, but think about it; i'm sure you're in a first world country will tons of opportunity. If you aren't you can always move to one. Have you considered living in another part of the world? I'd consider that before punching your own ticket. In the end you have to want to be here. It'd be sad if you weren't. Don't do it.
