I just finished a phone interview. The questions were all about how I worked with MVC. The job description didn't discuss the underlying platform, but the two women who were interviewing me told me it was working with Java. I've worked with it before but not being interested in working with it again, I politely explained and ended the interview. The recruiter involved is a woman.
Why?! Why do women have to be so dazed and confused! WHY?!
Edit: ok so someone complained that I didn't make it clear why I consider the situation all fucked up.
The job was supposed to be doing .NET, according to the recruiter. The job description didn't specify the underlying technology, which says to me now that the person who wrote it didn't really understand the project. I didn't concern myself too much about it because the recruiter was convinced it was c# and .NET.
The fact that there was this major disconnect between what the recruiter told me and what the project manager and hr person thought is why I said dazed and confused.
I can't truly blame the recruiter, because recruiters are basically clueless. But the project manager should fucking know what technology they are using, and they should make sure the recruiter understands that if they are looking for Java developers, not to send .NET developers.
