Nope. At any big company every single technical manager is a woman. Good luck getting promoted if you're not a woman.

If you're a white guy, to even get a good job (100k+) you'll need to be creme of the crop. I'm talking 4.0 GPA, open source projects used by hundreds of people on Github with thousands of stars and forks. Mastery of technical interviews, pass leetcode hards effortlessly. And even then if a woman or minority qualifies for the same job, odds are you won't get it.

Woman? Minimum GPA (3.0) and basic competency (leetcode easy-medium) and you're hired and on track to a 500k/yr job at FAANG within a few years.

Let me just quote myself: "Now you need to be the best among a pool of applicants of white men where nobody else qualifies for the job. Because if somebody who isn't a cis white male qualifies for the job, they will get it over you, 100% of the time. This is the sad reality of the state of Western society. "

Been there, done that.

Quit my software job and now I have my own business.

And I only hire men.

There"s always increased pressure to get more females because "disparity" and other similar bullshit..... However if you are in to making yourself a freelancer sort of guy and are willing & able market yourself as a one man company, you are able to get contracts without the unnecessary bs....

I'm a software developer in Brazil and companies here are forcing women and black people to be a priority while hiring to increase the % of these people. It's just marketing, companies only cares about the money and the don't care. They encourage hiring these people because they want to make marketing showing this.

I am in this job for 7 months, the person that was hired before me was a woman and for the same role, backend developer (mid-level), but I think they didn't like her work because she stayed there for only 3 months. What I mean is, the main thing is to be able to do your job well to always have a job. But if you have the same knowledge as a black person or a woman, you'll not be hired.

One coworker said to me that he knew a developer that is woman and companies are always reaching to her via Linkedin (she is entry level)

I finished an accelerated course in web-dev and I gave up trying to find a job because of the women in tech bs. Especially since one of my female classmates, the one I had to help out constantly because she was so dense and didn't understand anything, got hired a few weeks after graduating. While I couldn't find a job months after graduating, even though I was the top of my class. I'm still salty about it.

The only way to be successful as a man in software development is to start your own business.

I was honestly tempted to pretend to be a transgender. I know I would have been hired faster than you can say "social justice". I would never be able to degrade myself in such a way though.

My first job was in female dominated company, just hell. First shock was how incompetent they are, then realized you can't be promoted if you're a man. They aggressively try to push men out, but still hire them because they need someone to do the work.

Second job was 'simp' dominated, better but still annoying to work with. Deeply frustrated and obsessed with women 'geeks'. Sure they got money, but I don't think women line up for overweight midgets. Or maybe it was drugs, but these geeks had too big egos.

Now I'm in male dominated company, there are women here but it's a lot better, men do all the technical stuff (including management), women do HR & BS.

No. Worked with several women who were "programmers" who had never touched code before or knew anything about it. They were allowed to learn on the job. I've had to take a test or make a program for every single company I've applied to despite having work experience and a full diverse portfolio. These girls didn't have a portfolio or have to take a test.

I worked as a "team" with one. I wrote around 40k lines. She wrote around 500. The CEO left a "good job!! :)" On her pull request. I did several weekends in a row and unpaid overtime. Never even got a thanks.

This is just my story and my personal experience though.

In my experience you'll still be able to get your foot in the door at a large company because there is a shortage of talent. The real challenge comes when you start to move up the ladder. Companies want to brag that they have women in leadership.

No, i have a friend who married a female developer on the job, and you know, marriage, cheating, divorce, etc.
I knew he lived with another woman from the job, but i think he is not with her anymore...
Diversification is everywhere and feminism too, i would use a bodycam just in case.

They cant actually program but it doesn't stop them.from getting hired. Also support positions (which are useless, I used to do their job better as part of my job as a programmer) are overwhelmingly women.

So look forward to being told what to do (the wrong thing most of the time) by useless women who can't do what you can while carrying the load of female "engineers" on your team who can't code.

And this will be hidden because modern software is done using scrum which is basically communism for programming skill.
