"Love" is another word that sells an idea, something that isn't inherently real but is pushed as a means to buy and consume.

There has never been a need for the concept of love, what is generally described as "love" can usually be accurately described as something more with grounds in reality, in a biological and psychological manner.

Once again, just another act of society to con and shame a man into buying and performing an act which no longer benefits him, but instead uses his disposability to further push capitalism and power the economy.

You know, I really need to start a YouTube channel, because this thing perfectly coincides with what I'm thinking of calling "the sexual selection arms race of MAB (Mutually Assured Bankruptcy)."

It used to be that if you were capable of taking the woman out with your father's car to the drive-in-cinema, she'd be packing up her hope chest to have a small ceremony at her local church, in a homemade dress, within a year.

Standards have increased since then. In the 60's, you had to have your own car, and you had to take her on trips (both the real and psychadellic ones). But standards were still low enough that even hippies who dropped out could get married, usually within a couple of years.

The 70's rolled around, and now the man had to not only take her on trips, but he had to "be cool," wear whatever was in, and be "up" on the latest crazes. He also had to have his own apartment. But the entry point was still low enough to where people like Larry from Three's Company could get laid.

Then the 80's rolled around, which was when hypergamy started to really spike. Now the guy had to have "things going for him" for a woman to consider him.

In the 90's, women ditched the concept of "the steady," and started to bifurcate men into two categories: the ones I'll marry, and the ones I'll fuck. The ones she fucks she finds in the clubs and coffee houses. The ones she marries she finds at work, and she develops "sexual harassment" as a means of defense against losers.

But in the 2000s, with the internet, the rails have truly come off...

Even as late as the '90s, it used to be that a guy who could sneak in a nice looking girl to an over-21 local music concert had a near-certain chance of getting laid.

These days, women won't even go with you to a local concert alone, because they are getting offers to get shipped in special to attend Coachella, or Burning Man, or to see Tiësto in Ibiza. Players from all over the country are willing and able to shell out thousands of dollars to give women they meet online these once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and she can get these things every weekend, so long as she is willing to put up a good promotional package for herself.

If you want to keep a decent looking woman in her late teens and early 20s, you had better be able to drop thousands of dollars to keep her perpetually entertained, with plenty of interesting and exclusive selfie moments she can post on Instagram.

Because, if you don't, there is a guy she met three weeks ago in an online chat asking her to fly with him to Aspen for an all expenses paid skiing vacation, right alongside a son of a French exchange student she met at college who is paying for her to go to Paris for a weekend, right alongside the dork she knew in high school who made good for himself as a financial analyst asking her to go boating with him in Fort Lauderdale on his new yacht in a Facebook chat.

As Aristotle would say, "the nature of desire is without limit." Hypergamous desires had natural limits. But when there is no more natural limit on hypergamous desire, men are finding that the "arms race" of sexual selection is reaching unnaturally extreme levels, just to keep their girlfriends with them.

Forget about the price of the rock, gentlemen. A good enough looking woman can get a hundred times the dollar amount of any rock you can buy, spent on her behalf, in the course of any given year.
